The British battleship Prince of Wales was the second ship in the King George V class. Shortly after its completion in March 1941, it was involved in the historic hunt for the German battleship Bismarck. In October, the Prince of Wales was dispatched to Singapore to reinforce the armed forces in the Far East. Her short period of service of only 9 months ended dramatically when she was intercepted by Japanese bombers in the so-called Battle of Malaya. The model reproduces the Prince of Wales true to detail, the set also includes the two Japanese bombers Type 96 “Nell” and Type 1 “Betty” to replicate the battle scene.
